You’ve probably heard coconut oil is good for you, but do you really know why?
Do you know why you should be cooking with coconut oil as opposed say olive oil?

First, fats are healthy for you and coconut oil is a great way to get more healthy fats in your diet. It’s great for brain function, your immune system, thyroid function, energy, and even for your skin. Heck, I even use it as a lotion so its’ great for more than just cooking.
Second, coconut oil cooks at higher temperature than some other oils, so you don’t have to worry about burning it or it getting oxidized. That essentially means you’re creating something toxic. Ick!!
Have you ever had a pan start burning from olive oil?? That’s what I’m talking about…Not good!
Lastly, coconut oil is a healthy fat source more likely to be used as energy in the body rather than stored as fat, so it can promote an increased metabolism and fat burning! Sounds good to me.
One of my favorite brands of coconut oil is Kelapo Coconut Oil. Of all the brands I’ve tried it’s tasty and smells the best (that’s why I love to use it as lotion too!).
